"The root of education is bitter, but sweet are its fruits." - Isocrates

Wouldn't it be nice if we were born with the knowing everything we needed to get through life? I know that without school and education I would be no where, and I am sure the vast majority of people feel the same way.

It would be really nice. except there wouldnt be any learning through processes of learning. learning from the journey to recieve knowledge is one of the best pieces of wisdom you can recieve

Very true. Who is really going to need to know how to calculate the area of a triangle when you only know 1 side? It's the activating the part of your brain and learning how to work through it that really matters.

Hmmm... I like struggle and strife. A constant test of my mettle shows me whether or not I'm capable... if not I fix my errors and return. In that regard it wouldn't be that nice to know everything I needed. Although, education definitely takes us to places of more importance and prestige than without so I can agree on that point. Josh makes a wonderful point as well. I also have to agree that the activation of otherwise un-excersized parts of the brain is crucial. Good post although short because it really makes one beg the question.
